All younger water priests require all of their hands to channel their spells efficiently in combat. During the times of war this naturally leaves you very vulnerable to melee attacks if an opponent gets too close alive. With the help of the water templars, especially ones from the Preceptors branch, many water priests have studied ways of using plate armours and shields while channeling in combat. They have developed a way to attune their armanents with elemental mana while channeling so that they serve as suitable conduits for the elemental energy.
